Morgan Wallen teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to give a young fan the experience of a lifetime during his recent stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Owen, a six-year-old fan who has been battling a heart condition since birth, was given the chance to attend the live country concert as well as meet Wallen in a personal backstage hangout.

Owen Has Undergone Three Heart Surgeries Since Birth

In a statement to Country Now, Owen’s mom, Alexis Arnold, explained that this opportunity arose as a result of his heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). She explained that her little boy was born with this condition and that he has had to undergo three heart surgeries in total – one when he was born, one at six months old, and one at two years old.

Even through all the trials and tribulations that the young boy has faced in his lifetime, his love for music has never faded. Alexis made this clear in a recent video shared via TikTok, which first shows Owen singing along to Morgan Wallen’s song “Whiskey Glasses” in his home and then cuts to him getting to experience the same tune live in concert.

Her caption read, “6 years of being a @morganwallen fan! Hes been his biggest fan since hes been two! Went and seen Morgan Wallen at a rodeo when he was two and now finally went to a concert last weekend! 🖤”

Being the massive fan that he is, Owen was overjoyed to get the news that his wish to meet the hitmaker had been granted.

A Backstage Experience With Wallen

Before taking their seats in the audience of the show on Thursday, August 1, Owen and his family were ushered backstage where the young fan got to talk to Wallen about their shared interests in baseball, dirt bikes, and more before snapping some photos together. In a video captured by Owen’s mom that has since been deleted from social media, the “Lies, Lies, Lies” singer can be seen with a smile on his face the whole time as he got to know Owen.

Later on in the evening, Wallen fulfilled his promise and gave Owen a shoutout from the stage before breaking out into his fan-favorite hit, “Last Night.”

“I met with a little boy who has been going through a super hard time in life lately, right before the show and I told him I would shout him out at some point during the show so I’m going to do that right now. His name is Owen and hopefully he’s still here,” Wallen can be heard saying in the clip before screams erupted from Owen and his family from their seat. The young fan immediately began singing along with Wallen and the rest of the packed-out stadium.

In her recent statement, Alexis revealed that Owen has remained strong throughout his entire health journey and his family is “very grateful” to be able to say that he is currently doing “very well.”

“Unless you know he has a heart condition you wouldn’t be able to tell unless you see his scar,” she shared.

An Unforgettable Experience

She expressed how meaningful it was for them to escape the difficulties they’ve faced in recent years and enjoy a night of fun, all thanks to Morgan Wallen and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“Morgan was such a great guy. Owen and Morgan clicked so easily and I’m very grateful for Morgan Wallen and Make-A-Wish  for giving my son this experience. He deserves this! 🖤”

This heartfelt encounter took place amid Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour. This week, the East Tennessee native will head to Las Vegas before returning to Europe with shows in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and more.

He is also gearing up to welcome fans to his hometown for a milestone headlining concert at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. He will perform two shows on September 20 and 22.
